Josephine Apartments

Pros: Josephine Apartments is a wonderful place to stay – very cozy, spotlessly clean and warm, with hot water and everything needed for a comfortable visit. The apartment was really clean and well maintained, which made the stay very pleasant. The kitchen is fully equipped with a coffee machine, kettle, microwave, stove and oven – nothing was missing. There is also a TV and an elevator in the building, which adds to the comfort. The location is perfect, right in the city center. It’s about 500 meters from the bridge, and right next to the São Bento train station with its beautiful azulejos. Check-in and check-out were handled at the highest level. I arrived much earlier, around 10:00 a.m., and the room was already ready – I received the keys immediately, which was a huge plus. A very successful stay – everything was well organized and stress-free. I highly recommend this apartment and would be happy to return!

Pros: Really good location and perfect for a short city break

Cons: Weird smell in the bathroom, probably from the drains. Also would have been nice to have things like salt, pepper, and oil in the kitchen

Pros: I’m middle of centre but nice and quiet little sanctuary from the busy chaos outside Beautiful little balcony overlooking greenery

Cons: One big armchair but for couple maybe needs two smaller ones For longer stays there needs to be someone to clear the trash and change to towels When I asked for clean towels I was told there is a charge I think the charge of the property per night allows for no charge of clean towels

Fantastic location in Porto

Pros: Location is fantastic, value for money. Very clean

Cons: Only minor issue is the noise from floorboards upstairs but that is minor

Pros: Well equipped, clean, very comfortable, very central. The staff were very friendly and accommodation - could leave our bags with them before check in.

Cons: A lot of noise coming from upstairs.

Pros: Second time I've stayed here and can't recommend it enough.

Cons: Nothing.

Great place to stay in Porto

Pros: Everything! Comfy bed lovely balcony washing machine to catch up on travel washing. The apartment was clean and quiet. Very close to Sao Bento train station and metro. Easy walk to the Cathedral and down to the river. The tourist centre and bus tours again are only a short walk away. The reception staff at D&H Smart Housing were really helpful and great to deal with.

Pros: Clean has everything you need it's a little small but in a great position in the city staff very friendly and helpful It's on the third floor but there's a lift which was really appreciated.

Perfect apartment in the heart of Porto

Pros: The apartment is great. The location, the windows facing the courtyard (no street noise disturbed my rest), the view from the window, the kitchen equipment and the comfortable bed. Very suitable for a couple.

Cons: It is absolutely true what has already been said in previous reviews: the bathroom door is absolutely useless, it practically does not work. And the audibility of the upstairs neighbours (I don't know why they move so much at night) :)

Definitely a place to return to!

Pros: Perfect location central to all attractions which felt like a blessing when walking this hilly city. The apartment was bright, clean, not overlooked, quiet ( though if noisy people were in other flats noise would have carried. One could hear voices and footsteps as people climbed the wooden steps to other floors and walked around in the flat above). Loved having a balcony big enough to enjoy breakfast on except on those days when it was raining heavily. This apartment provided a real haven to relax in after a busy day. And I loved that it was on the third floor without a lift as I was able to burn off some of the calories from the great Portuguese food and drink which I consumed :-).

Cons: The bathroom door could do with being reset on its runners. This wasn't a problem for me as I was travelling alone, though may have been for couples if they prefer more privacy.
