Beautiful Garden Suite with some flaws
Pros: We had the Garden Room, which is a stand alone room at the end of the inner courtyard. It’s very quiet, since you have no one above or besides you. Breakfast doesn‘t start till 8:30 am and it was fresh in the mornings, so no people were in the garden making any noise. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the room! The room itself is beautifully designed, and has enough space for all your belongings. Since it has a sliding door towards the entrance, you can completely shield the room from the garden and have total privacy. Breakfast, which we had twice at the hotel, was very good, too and with very generous portions. The hotel has a small store, where they sell wines, beer, home made produce such as jam, cookies (the cookis are very good!), etc. All in all, we loved this place and certainly would stay again.
Cons: There were a few downsides to our room: First, the beds were too firm for our liking. Second, the bathroom. While the bathroom is very large and beautiful and even has it‘s own courtyard, function was completely sacrificed for design. While there are areas to place your belongings, there‘s no space to place anything right by the sink. No toothbrush, no soap, nothing. You can‘t even place anything on the sink, because it‘s round, so things will fall off. The water faucet is placed too high compared to the sink itself and each time you use the sink, water will splash everywhere, it‘s a disaster. The floor then becomes a slipping hazard. Another inconvenience is that you cannot hang your used towels anywhere! There is no towel rack in the bathroom, no hooks, nothing. We would have liked to reuse our towels, however if you cannot hang them anywhere to dry, that‘s rather difficult. We really loved the room and the bathroom is beautiful as well, but the design of the bathroom in terms of functionality is horrible. That‘s something that really should be improved. Third, while most of the employees were very nice and friendly, some were a little aloof.

Very nice location and design
Pros: Very nice location and very nice room. Very clean and well designed.
Cons: The people at entrance are very cold and breakfast takes ages . It used to be more uplifting / careful a few year ago.

Pros: Breakfast was great, staff was super friendly and helpful, decoration & furnitures looked gorgeous and well arranged and chosen - there even is an art piece in the upper part of the staircase, from artist Maja Escher, also featured at the wonderful Serralves Foundation for Contemporary Art (my highlight in Port).
Cons: There are many moths - garment moths - given it's an old building I guess. For couples, know there is little privacy since there is no wall nor partition between the bed and the toilet + sink. I would have added some disrecte shelves around the sink and the bathtub.

Cosy boutique hotel with great location
Pros: Beautiful little hotel with charming and stylish décor. You feel welcome from the very first moment. Incredibly friendly staff. Cozy little garden. Our room on the top floor had a balcony, which we really appreciated. A slightly unusual solution with a bathtub inside the shower cabin. The floors creaked a lot, but it was part of the charm. Delicious breakfast, but there was an extra charge for covering a single dish, juice, and coffee, even though we had already paid for breakfast.
Cons: Delicious breakfast, but there were quite a few extra charges even though breakfast was included. You received a €15 voucher, but a single dish cost more than that.
