A good place to stay in Porto.

Pros: Friendly yet professional welcome, in fact the reception ladies were very helpful the entire stay..hairdryer, extra tea and sugar supplies and restaurant recommendations. Clean and tidy. Excellent location for us. Secure entrance. Quiet at night. Close to the metro.

Cons: These are more observations. The room was a little tight for 3 adults as the room was configured..maybe moving the hanging space and rack to the other wall would make the area by the third bed a bit more spacious. The third bed could do with a headboard as my son kept losing his pillows in the night. The view wasn't particulary scenic. Attention required to the window, some mould and a piece of gum in the corner.

Pros: The location was fantastic - walking distance to all main sites. The room was very clean and quiet, and good, powerful shower. The staff were exceptional - very friendly and helpful.

Cons: The room was spacious and very clean. The only comment is that the room was very spartan - no pictures on the wall and no rugs on the floor. It could have done with a more personal touch. But overall, very nice.

My husband and two friends and I had a brilliant stay at The Gate, location was excellent.

Pros: Breakfast was great. The towels were lovely and the staff were amazing.

Cons: The room was a little cold

Good for a short stay

Pros: Excellent location, near station to get to the airport. Very clean rooms, balcony was a great bonus. Near lots of sights and good restaurants.

Cons: Easily missed from the street. Walls are thin so you can hear everything!

Great - Iwould stay here again.

Pros: The staff here are extremely helpful and polite. Excellent English spoken. The room was very clean and comfortable and the air conditioning effective. Near Sao Bento station; great for Douro train line and a decent restaurant just over the road. The Se is very close too - about 10 mins walk.

Cons: There are no major issues at all. Room maybe a bit on the small side, but that is hardly a problem.
